Energizing alcoholic drinks banned under law in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted a legislative initiative which provides for the restriction of fabrication of energizing alcoholic production and putting it into circulation.   

Under the document, presently, this category of products is not regulated in the national legislation and the proved negative impact of the energizing beverages with content of alcohol imposes the prohibition of their consumption.   

The draft adopted provides for the completion of the law on the fabrication and circulation of the ethyl alcohol and alcoholic production with the notion ‘’energizing alcoholic production.’’ This represents the alcoholic production meant for human consumption, which contains various combinations of carbohydrates with one or more substances: vitamins, minerals, caffeine and other compounds with effect of stimulating the central nervous system. Another amendment backed by the lawmakers sees the banning of the fabrication and circulation of this type of products.     

The document was passed in the final reading with the votes of 62 MPs.
