Moldovan president discusses strengthening of Francophone projects for young people at Francophone University Agency office

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, on the eve of the National Day of France, visited the office of the Francophone University Agency (AUF), where she met young people and teachers actively involved in the promotion of Francophonie in Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
„We discussed the projects carried out within AUF and the progress made internationally, as well as the ways we can strengthen the francophone projects for young people from Moldova. I was happy to see people fond of the activity they carry out and I thanked them for the effort made for the development of relations with the French-speaking countries,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
At the same time, the head of state expressed wish for Moldova to become more competitive on the global market. ‘’We want to attract new investments in Moldova and for this we need well-educated young people, open for change and who want to contribute to Moldova’s development. I urged them to become active promoters of the studying of the French language and to consolidate the friendship relations we have with the Francophone countries, and especially with France,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The Moldovan president congratulated France and the entire French nation on the National Day, marked today. ‘’Thank you for friendship and support; we are confident in a common future in the European Union,’’ Maia Sandu added.
