Moldovan parliament inquiry commission on way of exploitation of useful mineral substances unveils activity report

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The inquiry commission on the way of exploitation of useful mineral substances and establishing the impact on the environment unveiled the activity report in the parliament’s plenum today.
During those eight months of work, the commission held 24 meetings and hearings and made eight visits to the territory. About 150 people were heard, including heads of enterprises, representatives of central and local public administrations, environmental NGOs, etc. The commission submitted 205 approaches with requests for information from various state institutions.
The report contains about 160 pages with findings and recommendations to state institutions. Thus, the government, in a period of 120 days, should ensure the working out and approval of normative acts necessary according to recommendations and the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the same term, will submit the report on investigations carried out to parliament.
The inquiry commission on the way of exploitation of useful mineral substances and establishing the impact on the environment was set up on 4 November 2021, in order to make investigations in the sector. Ina Coseru was nominated head of this commission.
