Former notary of Plahotniuc organization extradited from Belgium

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prosecutors have brought charges against and heard the former notary of the Plahotniuc organization, extradited from Belgium on 14 July evening.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the notary is accused of committing actions which ensured the translation and legalization of the acts necessary for the carrying out of the scheme generally titled, Bank Fraud. It is about offences of forgery of public acts, through which the money from the ‘’bank fraud’’ were laundered and making false statements to the investigation authorities. Also, the suspected former notary would have artificially created accusing evidence through the forgery of notarial acts.
On 20 April 2021, following an approach by prosecutors, the Chisinau Court, Ciocana headquarters, ruled to place the concerned person under arrest. Thus, following the person’s extradition, prosecutors presented to the former notary the accusation and the warrant arrest issued by magistrates. Subsequently, the former notary was placed under preventive arrest for 30 days.
