European Investment Bank to provide Moldova with loan worth 150 million euros for roads' rehabilitation

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a loan worth 150 million euros for roads’ rehabilitation. The parliament today ratified the contract on financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Under the document, the financial means will be used for the implementation of the project, Moldova Roads IV. It is about the rehabilitation, modernization and extension of three road segments. Also, the feasibility study and the project documentation are to be worked out for another nine road segments.
The contract on financing with EIB implies a grant worth 10 million euros, provided from sources of the Emerging Advisory and Technical Assistance Facility for Eastern Partnership Investment in Connectivity Programme.
The loan worth 150 million euros represents a half of the sum necessary for the financing of the project, Moldova Roads IV. Thus, the authorities will negotiate also with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in order to benefit from additional support.
