Term of implementation of Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme extended

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - The term of implementation of the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020 has been  extended by one year. The parliament today ratified an amendment to the agreement on financing between Moldova’s government, the European Union and the Romanian Regional Development and Public Administration Ministry.   

Under the document, the term of implementation needs to be extended because of the consequences triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020 will be finished till 31 December 2025 at the latest.    

The financing agreement sees the providing of a grant worth 49 million euros. Among the programme’s beneficiaries, there are local and district authorities, public, culture and research institutions, as well as public associations from those eight countries participating in the programme - Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
