Moldovan parliament extends financing sources of population support fund

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament has approved the extension of the financing sources of the population support fund. The latter will be able to be completed including from direct transfers, grants from donors, international organizations and development partners.   

According to the amendments, the means of the population support fund  will be used for the financing including of the social assistance measures established by the Labour and Social Protection Ministry, as well as for the remuneration of the staff from the social assistance sector who participates in development projects.  

The ensuring of the draft’s implementation does not imply additional state budget spending, as donors’ transfers and grants will be used. For instance, the United Nations Children’s Fund Moldova has approved about 10 million dollars to this end already.

The draft law was adopted in the second reading with the votes of 75 lawmakers.
