Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Health sector specialists warn the residents about the danger of bathing in water basins from Chisinau. The cholera vibrio was detected on the beach from Vadul lui Voda (Dniester bank) following the collection of more samples.
At a today’s operative meeting of the city hall’s services, the head of the medical and social assistance general department of the city hall, Boris Gilca, urged the residents to be prudent and observe the hygiene rules after bathing.
At the same time, health sector specialists recommend that the citizens are prudent when choosing the zone for leisure during the summer period: people should go only to specially arranged and authorized lakes; priority should be given to the areas placed nearby natural elements: woods, friendly relief; the speed of the water flow without strong water streams; the water should not sharply oscillate. Also, people should avoid swallowing water, in order to prevent a possible infection. Most often, residents can get infected with viruses which can trigger acute diarrhea diseases of skin diseases.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, there are 3,600 lakes with no purpose of leisure in Moldova, where bathing is not advisable.
