Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - Four companies importing petroleum products notified the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) that they were reducing pump prices of diesel fuel by an average of 0.19 lei per litre. This is the second decrease in prices of fuel in August, after prices dropped by 0.23 lei per litre in early August.
The price of diesel dropped to 15.79 lei per litre. Companies motivate the reduction in diesel oil retail prices by a cut of the purchase prices of this product, which has been continuing since June 2015.
This is the ninth change of retail prices of diesel recorded this year. Throughout last January, diesel fuel prices decreased against the previous month three times in a row by an average of 4.8 per cent. In February, they were modified twice, registering an increase of 4.9 per cent, and then a 0.6-per cent fall. In early August, the price dropped again to an average of 15.98 lei per litre.
There are 86 economic agents on the oil market, that are licensed for retail sale of diesel fuel and manage 625 filling stations throughout Moldova.
