Moldovan premier hands ten national prizes

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today participated in the 2015 issue of the National Prize award gala, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister congratulated the famous personalities of Moldova who distinguished themselves in diverse important sectors for the country's development. "Thank you for you putting heart and soul in what you do, thus becoming, through your achievements, model of inspiration for generations," Valeriu Strelet said.
The festive event took place at the Palace of the Republic and brought together more officials and culture people from Moldova. The prime minister handed the ten National Prizes in the fields of science, technologies, culture and art.
"We have people who, due to their talent and labour, have contributed to the promotion of Moldova's image. Soprano Valentina Nafornita shines on the most well-known world stages, the violin of Nicolae Botgros is matchless at present as well, and the photos by Mihai Potarniche have become emblematic," Valeriu Strelet said.
At the event, held on the eve of the Independence Day, the prime minister said that our everybody's duty is to remember those who fought for Moldova's independence and passed away. "We recall, with great pleasure and warmth, the pair Ion and Doina Aldea Teodorovici, poet Grigore Vieru, exceptional artists, who urged the Moldovan people, in their works, to kneel up and be happy with the chance to create a state with new aspirations and values," Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet emphasized.
The value of the National Prize is 100,000 lei for each laureate. The prize winners were selected by a special commission, by secret vote, on 17 August.
