Moldovan speaker attends National Prize award gala

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/- Laureates of National Prize 2015 today were awarded within a gala held at the Palace of the Republic. Attending the event were Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet, Culture Minister Monica Babuc, MPs, people of culture, art and science, diplomats and other officials, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker expressed gratitude to the achievements got by laureates of the 2015 issue of the National Prize.
Candu wished them every success and inspiration in their daily work, assuring that the parliament will take into account the needs they have, as their work should be fully used.
"Moldova is a young state, in the full process of evaluation that has chosen European integration as a priority. Your achievements represent a landmark in our country's rapprochement to the strongest states of Europe, with science, culture, art, spiritual heritage", Candu said.
He also said that the authorities relied on experience and devotion of laureates as Moldova's European dream should become a palpable reality.
The ten National Prizes in the fields of science, technologies, culture and art were handed today.
The value of the National Prize is 100,000 lei for each laureate. The prize winners were selected by a special commission, by secret vote, on 17 August.
