Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta today signed the fourth additional protocol to the agreement between Moldovan and Romanian governments on implementing programme on technical and financial assistance worth 100 million euros.
The two officials congratulated Moldovans on Independence Day. Ponta wished Moldova stability, especially, in the political sector.
"It becomes a tradition that Victor Ponta visits us on 27 August. It is a great honor to host him in Chisinau, even in the beginning of my mandate. During the today's talks, we approached a string of issues of common interest, among which cross border projects. We appreciate the efforts to back the agenda on Moldova's integration into EU and we rely on active involvement", Strelet said.
Ponta congratulated the pro-European parties for decision to create a new ruling coalition. "Romania is the only country in the world having one interest related to Moldova, namely, to be well in Moldova and its citizens. My first message to you was the one saying that in difficult times you have to rely on us", he noted. He also added that the Romanian state would back Moldova, including in investigation on theft in the banking system, if required.
Today Ponta has meetings with President Nicolae Timofti and Speaker Adrian Candu.
