Romanian language represents simbol of identity for Moldova, premier says

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today attended the Academy of Sciences General Assembly's festive meeting dedicated to Romanian Language Day in Chisinau. The prime minister held a speech highlighting that this holiday was a good occasion to both see the results and identify the errors marking the process of reviving the Romanian language, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

To this effect, Valeriu Strelet mentioned the importance of joining the efforts of the government, academic medium, pedagogical community to promote the motivational tools necessary to make the Moldovan people speak, preserve and promote the Romanian language. "It represents a concern to everyone involved in both studying and promoting it. We believe in that permanently bringing the Romanian language home is special mission that should go to the National Centre for Terminology, which should be part of the Academy. After some changes, improvements and restructuring, it will bring its full contribution to redressing the linguistic situation in Moldova", the premier said.

Academics, people of culture and other important personalities attended the festive meeting.

Moreover, Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today laid flowers at the Stefan cel Mare si Sfant monument and the busts of the writers on the Alley of Classics in Chisinau.
