Tenders for selection of banks to take over treasury accounts of Savings Bank, Social Bank, Unibank to be announced on 1 September

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ - The tenders for the selection of banks that will take over the treasury accounts of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank), Social Bank and Unibank, undergoing liquidation, are to be announced on 1 September, said Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today. The contests will be organised step by step by the Finance Ministry throughout the entire month.

"The treasury accounts will not be transferred to Posta Moldovei (national postal service). The latter will only take over the current payments from the three banks. Subsequently, by choice of the beneficiaries, to be transferred to the banks selected by the National Social Insurance House, following the contest", the prime minister said, after laying flowers at the busts of Romanian writers on the Alley of Classics in Chisinau.

"I very much hope and believe that the process will be carried out in an organised way, correctly, without causing discomfort to citizens or create an alert situation," the prime minister said.

The pensions and other social benefits will be paid through the Posta Moldovei state enterprise starting from 1 September 2015, according to a government decision based on recommendations developed by the National Committee for Financial Stability. The social benefits covered are all types of insurance pensions, state social allowance, state monthly allowance, maternity allowance, single childbirth allowance, death financial aid, and state financial support, social benefits for the unemployed, social aid.
