Chinese government to back creation of data transmission network

Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/- Government Secretary General Serghei Palihovici today met the economic adviser of Chinese Embassy in Moldova, Xuejun Song. The officials discussed a grant provided by China amounting to 60 million yuani and signing of an agreement on economic and technical cooperation between the two countries, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The money will be used for creating a republican telecommunication system, that will interconnect all information systems of the public administration authorities. Thus, organisation of a governmental telecommunication system will allow setting up a single information space of the state for universal access.
Palihovici thanked the Chinese government for the support provided to Moldova in modernising the country and aligning to European standards. "We highly appreciate China's assistance in priority areas for our country. The Moldovan government is determined to take necessary actions for developing the national data transmission network," he said.
In the context, Palihovici said that, along with the reforms underway in different sectors, information infrastructure and data transmission network contributed to modernising Moldova.
The sides appreciated the evolution of the bilateral relations, pointing out that the ties had been boosted on the last period. Xuejun Song reiterated the Chinese government's support for Moldova's economic development and fostering mutually advantageous collaboration with Moldova both in economic and technical areas.
