European Commission reiterates support for Moldovan government

Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet had a telephone conversation with European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn this morning, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The two officials discussed the priorities of the Moldovan government, the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, pro-European reforms, as well as the developments in the Transnistrian settlement conflict.
The commissioner for European neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations congratulated Valeriu Strelet on his appointment to the office of prime minister. Johannes Hahn reiterated that the government led by Valeriu Strelet had the European Commission's support to promote its programme’s objectives, a pro-European reform agenda and Moldova’s European integration.
For his part, the prime minister thanked the commissioner for the European Commission’s constant support provided to Moldova. Valeriu Strelet reviewed the priorities of the government, referring in particular to the banking and financial stability and the resumption of talks with the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, the officials talked about the visit Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet will pay in Brussels this month.
