Over 100 Moldovan Army servicemen participate in Sea Breeze drills

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- Over 100 servicemen and 17 technical units of the National Army are trained in multinational exercises, Sea Breeze 2015, held in Ukraine on 30 August-12 September.
Major, contingent commander Ion Cozma said that, at the practical phase of the drills, scheduled for 8-11 September, a reconnaissance platoon of the 22nd peacekeeping battalion would be deployed on an island to explore the land for enemy detection, and a reconnaissance company of the motorized infantry brigade would run mobile and terrestrial patrols in the area of responsibility.
Cozma added that Moldovan servicemen had been earlier trained by Ukrainian and American colleagues in terms of taking aboard the ship military equipment and unloading it, crowd control, as well as providing medical first aid on the battlefield.
Attending the event are military contingents from 14 NATO member states and signatories to the Partnership for Peace programme.
