Moldovan premier, Romanian envoy broach Moldova-Romania governments' joint meeting

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet met Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca today. The two officials tackled the organisation of a joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments, due in Tulcea, Romania, on 22 September, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Strelet highlighted the importance of the aforementioned meeting and presented Moldova's government vision on issues which are to be included in the event's agenda. Among the topics, Strelet specified the identification of areas and directions to turn to good account the non-refundable financial assistance provided by the Romanian government to Moldova, possibility to develop new investment partnerships, especially in the energy sector, and other important aspects on the bilateral agenda. „We are set to consolidate the excellent ties we have with Romania and to turn to account the potential of their development in various cooperation areas,” Strelet said.
For his part, Marius Lazurca expressed confidence that the above-mentioned meeting would be an important signal of support and encouragement for citizens of the two states.
The sides exchanged opinions on the social and political situation in Moldova. In this context, Lazurca spoke out for ensuring the stability and need to continue reforms in Moldova. „It is important that Moldova has a solid, firm and advanced government, with a full mandate. And during this mandate, you should be able to act firmly in order to achieve Moldova's pro-European goal," Marius Lazurca added.
