Former Romanian prosecutor to be expert at Moldovan National Anticorruption Centre

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRES/ - A former prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania (DNA) was introduced to the leadership of the Moldovan National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) today.
Mariana Alexandru, expert in criminality from the economic and financial sector, was selected by the Delegation of the European Union following more CNA requests addressed to diplomatic missions to provide assistance in investigating economic and financial offences, CNA press services has reported.
CNA representatives voiced confidence that the experience of former DNA prosecutor would be useful in order to make recommendations as to improving the legal framework in anti-corruption and efficiently investigating cases of economic and financial offences.
Alexandru's mission starts on 15 September and includes organising large-scale talks with the Prosecutor's General's Office and CNA, in order to implement the best practices from international legislation.
Last week, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu announced that a Romanian a prosecutor with a large experience at the National Anticorruption Directorate, who will assist the law-enforcement institutions to fight corruption, and will make an assessment of cases considered by Moldovan prosecutors, would come to Moldova on 15 September.
