Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a decision providing for setting up a national council for public administration reform, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The national council will be a high-level platform for decision making on strategic directions of the public administration reform, that will be led by the prime minister and will comprise representatives of the government and parliament.
The creation of the platform is a recommendation set in the information notes on behalf of the development partners, submitted to government for consideration. Thus, the national council will ensure an integrated process of strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of government policies in the public administration reform, both at the central and local levels. The council's goal is to correlate the national priorities with sectoral policies, international commitments and the framework of domestic and external resources in the concerned area.
The national council will coordinate and supervise the activity of the parity commission for decentralisation, and will take over a part of duties of the inter-ministerial committee on strategic planning, referring to modernisation of the central public administration.
Besides the council, advisory bodies will be created for certain components of the public administration reform, such as: professionalisation and integrity of public service, reforming public services, administrative decentralisation, management of public finances, fighting corruption in public administration, as well as other relevant sectors.
