Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldovan MP Petru Stirbate has informed that he was leaving the ranks of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and would carry on his activity as an independent lawmaker in a public statement today.
"The party I belong to is unfortunately not ready to get out of the vicious circle in which it has found itself already for too much time. Like all other ruling parties, the PLDM is in a serious crisis of reliability and there is no internal willpower to get out of this crisis. Time is not working in favour of the parties, but against Moldova," says the statement by the MP.
Petru Stirbate said that "time has come to put aside party solidarity that is misunderstood and, above all, show solidarity with the citizens and their problems."
At the same time, the MP said he would "continue to support the pro-European government” and “Moldova needs a stable government, not a political crisis" and would vote "only those drafts that are in the citizens’ best interest."
