Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/- The parliament and government request a EU mission on justice to assess the judiciary reform, the parliament's communication and media relations department has reported.
A petition on the matter was sent to the EU Delegation to Moldova by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet.
The two officials pointed out that the EU mission's assessment would help Moldova identify the possible deficiencies in the justice reform and adjust the action plan and internal working agenda.
"Taking into account that we passed more than half a way, and the EU fully backed the justice reform in Moldova, we ask EU for supporting in assessment of implementation of the strategy on justice reform, as well as the programme on supporting justice reform. There is consensus and political will to carry out the justice reform", the petition said.
The justice reform is a priority for Moldova. In this context, the implementation of the strategy on justice reform for 2011-2016 was initiated in 2011.
