Romania to further support Moldova on European integration path

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet met President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament Valeriu Stefan Zgonea, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The sides discussed the political dialogue between the two countries at various levels and strengthening bilateral efforts on converging actions of common interest. One subject also targeted the Moldovan and Romanian governments’ second joint meeting scheduled for 22 September in Romania.
Valeriu Strelet thanked the Romanian side for their constant and selfless support for Moldova in the process of obtaining visa liberalisation and signing the Association Agreement with the European Union. The prime minister said that Romania's support was crucial for Moldova, a driving force to take on the responsibilities that come with choosing the European path. To this end, Valeriu Strelet said that the government's programme was ambitious and firm in achieving progress.
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian parliament declared that Romania's position reflected the aspirations and vision of Moldova towards the further develop the Eastern Partnership and processes in the region, such as: continuing reforms, implementing the principles of differentiation, including regarding technical and financial assistance and, most importantly, maintaining the European perspective open to the partner states wishing to move forward on this path.
