Moldovan National bank governor, deputy governor resign

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - National Bank Governor Dorin Dragutanu and Deputy Governor Marin Molosag today submitted their resignations.

"We presented our resignation to the parliament speaker. During these three months we will ensure the interim position will be taken. It is a response to pressures on behalf of some politicians", Dorin Dragutanu said at a press conference.

He added that the representative of the International Monetary Fund informed about the resignation and assured that the National bank of Moldova will be fully functional during the negotiations.

Dorin Dragutanu expressed hope that by the time the International Monetary Fund mission left, a new leadership of the National Bank would be elected.
