Hungary willing to provide assistance to Moldova

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- Hungary is willing to provide assistance to Moldova in development of quality infrastructure, product safety and consumers' protection, Hungarian Ambassador to Chisinau Mátyás Szilágyi said at a meeting with Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic held on 29 September.
The diplomat also informed about the interest of Hungarian companies to invest in Moldova in such sectors as: energy, transport, health and livestock industry.
According to a press release by the Economics Ministry, the main issues were focused on economic cooperation between the two states, development of trade relations, promotion of export and investments. At the same time, the sides tackled implementation of provisions of the protocol of the second meeting of the Moldovan-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, as well as organisation of the third meeting of commission and bilateral meetings, due in November.
Moldova's foreign trade with Hungary was estimated at 91.1 million dollars in 2014. According to the volume of trade exchanges for the period, Hungary ranks 17th among partners Moldova has trade relations with, the communique said.
