Moldovan PM meets UN Secretary General

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet had held talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon within the 70th meeting of the UN General Assembly, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Ban Ki-moon referred to the recent adoption of new global goals for sustainable development in post-2015 period. He voiced hope that Moldovan government would take resolute actions to implement them. Strelet appreciated the important role of UN agencies and programmes in the assistance process for Moldova's development over the years.
Strelet said that an important step had been made in advancing global efforts of development, referring to the adoption of post-2015 agenda with sustainable development goals, based on three pillars - economic, social and environment ones. The sides also touched upon the regional security situation and evolutions in dialogue for Transnistrian conflict settlement.
Ban Ki-mooon reiterated UN willingness to provide assistance to Moldova in the fields of competence.
For his part, Strelet invited the official to pay an official visit to Moldova.
