Foreign ministers of Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia exchange opinions with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has met foreign ministers of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, in the context of participation in the 70th meeting of UN General Assembly, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions about the latest evolutions in Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, revising the challenges faced by each country and possible solutions to overcome them.
Minister Natalia Gherman reiterated the need to fully turn to good account the opportunities offered by the Strategic Dialogue between Moldova and USA, launched in March 2014, especially, to advance the bilateral relations in the economic and security sectors and diversifying energy resources. These are issues due to be approached within meetings of political coordinators within the Moldovan Foreign Ministry and U.S. Department of State, as well as within other four working groups.
At the same time, Gherman underlined the positive impact on Moldovan economy of implementing Free Trade Area with EU, and reiterated Moldova's interest in signing Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) with USA, involving new opportunities for cooperation in the economic and investment sectors.
Antony J. Blinken reaffirmed US willingness to provide support for European integration of the three countries. Also, the American official reiterated US support for Moldova on efficiently implementing the Association Agreement with EU.
