Moldovan PM meets Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Challenge Corporation in New York

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet has held talks with Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Dana J.Hyde in New York, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The sides remarked the positive experience acquired by the Moldovan government in cooperation with MCC and success of Compact Programme, implemented in Moldova, finalised in September. "Effects of the projects are experienced by most Moldovans. We opt for taking over experience of cooperation of MCC with other states to consolidate efficiency and energy security of Moldova", he said.
Dana J.Hyde highlighted the exemplary and transparent way of implementing the Compact Programme in Moldova, encouraging the Moldovan authorities to make progress in implementing initiated reforms. The official pointed out MCC willingness to continue cooperation with Moldova in order to carry out new projects meant to modernise Moldova.
The Compact Programme was implemented by MCC in Moldova in 2010-2015, the investments amounting to 262 million dollars, money donated by the American government. The restoration of 96 km of Sarateni-Soroca road and construction of 10 centralised irrigation systems were possible due to the programme.
