Moldovan premier meets Romanian president in New York

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet met Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly. Discussions focused on developing the bilateral cooperation, the sides welcoming, to this effect, the recent joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
During the talks, Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and President Klaus Iohannis referred to important areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the sectors of energy, trade, and economics as well as the prospect of turning into account Romania’s reimbursable assistance to Moldova. Valeriu Strelet highly praised the constant support Romania showed Moldova and the Bucharest-based authorities' willingness to continue to provide aid to the country.
President Klaus Iohannis reiterated Romania's support for the European course of Moldova and implementation of the pro-European reform agenda. The sides also tackled regional security and international developments.
