Three Moldovan banks under special administration transfer deposits to other financial institutions

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - Within preparatory actions to withdraw licences from Moldovan Savings Bank (Banca de Economii S.A.), BC (Commercial Bank) Unibank S.A. and BC Banca Sociala S.A., the centralised process of complete transfer of deposits to other banks has started, the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) press service has reported.

In this context, starting from 10 October, at 13.00, all operations into the time and demand deposit accounts of private persons and legal entities, opened at the concerned banks, will be ceased.

The clients of the three aforementioned banks will have access to deposits transferred to banks that will take over the money, in initial contractual conditions, starting from 19 October. On 10-19 October, the banks under special administration will prepare the lists of deposits, along with a detaliled related report, and will transfer them to other banks. At the same time, the receiving banks will introduce the information related to deposits in their information systems and will undertake needed measures to get ready to provide qualitative services to new clients.

The information on the banks to which the deposit balances are to be transferred, will be provided to clients via the territorial subdivisions, where they are served and through media on 12 October.

Additionally, starting from 10 October, the exchange points of the three banks will cease all operations, excepted those located at the state cross-border points.

BNM has earlier informed that, on 9 October, at 21.00, all operations to supply deposits of private persons and legal entities would be stopped. Also on that date, the operations with bank ing cards issued by the three banks will be ceased too.
