Moldovan PM, EU official broach justice reform, bilateral ties

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, met Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn on 12 October, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials referred basically to the implementation of the Association Agreement by Moldova. In particular, the sides discussed the reform in the justice sector and fighting corruption, as well as the public administration reform.
Valeriu Strelet and Johannes Hahn tackled the situation in the banking sector, including the resumption of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.
The talks between the two sides also focused on the situation in the Transnistrian region and developments in the conflict settlement.
The officials discussed the schedule of contacts between the Moldovan government and European institutions. Valeriu Strelet invited Johannes Hahn to pay a visit to Moldova.
