Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The Romanian parliament today is going to urgently ratify an agreement on refundable financial assistance between Romania and Moldova amounting to 150 million euros, signed in Chisinau on 7 October. The commission for budget, economy and finance ruled to submit the draft law on the accords's ratification to the plenum of the Chamber of Deputies for discussion and adoption by unanimous vote on 12 October.
The loan will be provided for a repayment period of five years, a 1.5-per cent annual interest rate, with the loan due to be offered in three installments. The first installment, worth 60 million euros, is provided in 2015, the second amounting to 50 million euros in 2016 and the third one of 40 million euros in 2017, under a Memorandum signed by the Romanian and Moldovan sides.
The loan is provided to Moldova, given that the latter "has no enough sources to finance the budget deficit estimated at 3.8 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product in 2015," the Memorandum also says.
The agreement, according to which Moldova borrowed 150 million euros from Romania, was approved by the Moldovan government last week and submitted to parliament for ratification.
