Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The Constitutional Court today rejected a notification by MP Elena Bodnarenco and recognized as constitutional a government decision on approving the list of narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as plants containing such substances, discovered in illegal traffic, as well as their quantity.
The notification says that "the government has no right to approve the quantity of drugs, but only their list, as the concerned decision is in breach of the provisions of more articles of the Fundamental Law."
The Constitutional Court said the government had the right to establish what quantity of drugs was large and small.
The Court's decision is final and cannot be subject to any appeal. It enters into force upon adoption and is published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
