Moldova's capital city marks Dedication Day

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/- The residents of Chisinau and its guests celebrate the city's Dedication Day today. The holiday programme started this morning with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Moldovan medieval ruler Stefan cel Mare and a religious service at the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau downtown.
Following the religious service, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca will participate in the festive inauguration of the holiday and will introduce the official delegations arrived from Ukraine, Romania, Switzerland and Finland on this occasion.
Chisinau residents and guests may attend various arts, literary, floristic and handicrafts exhibitions in all the city’s districts. Economic agents were also offered the possibility to sell their products in specially installed tents along the Stefan cel Mare Boulevard.
All Chisinau praetorships will have to present their holiday programmes by 17:00, after which, people are invited to attend a great concert, with Moldovan and Romanian artists, on Alexandru Diordita pedestrian street until 23:30.
The traffic on Stefan cel Mare Street will be stopped in the perimeter of Mihai Viteazul and Izmail streets, until tomorrow, 5:00. The traffic will also be closed on Columna and Alexandru cel Bun streets, in the perimeter of Mitropolit G. Banulescu-Bodoni and A. Puskin streets,today between 17:00 and 23:00.
