Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/- Activities for accreditation and assessment of conformity will be adjusted to the EU standards, according to a draft on amending and completing laws, approved by the government today.
"The draft law was elaborated in line with the national action plan for implementing the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and is related to adjusting the legal framework applicable to accreditation and assessment activities to the European practice", Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic said.
The law partially transposes the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2008 on setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance on marketing of products.
The national accreditation organisation is to be assessed by late 2015 in order to sign the Multilateral Recognition Agreement with European Cooperation for Accreditation. The results of certifications and inspections carried out by the assessment organisations accredited to Moldova can be recognised in the European and international economic area only after the signing. It will allow the free movement of products and local services on foreign markets.
