Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet approved amendments to the law on state social insurances pensions at a today meeting, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

In particular, the amendments deal with the simplification of the way of pension's calculation for the citizens who worked at certain institutions/enterprises, but for objectives reasons (fire, flood, armed conflict, loss or damage in the wake of natural calamity/emergency situation), the confirmative documents on the income provided for the entire period of work are not available in the archive of the concerned institutions.

As a result, the quantum of the pension will be calculated on the basis of the monthly average salary on Moldova, determined for each category of beneficiaries on the date when the retirement application is submitted.

Other amendments to the law on state social insurances pensions were approved by the government today, according to recommendations by a decision of the Court of Accounts. The modifications refers to the term of approval of the decision on giving right to pension and avoiding situations when a legal norm allows submitting documents in a 30-day period, and another one - to take the decision on establishing the pension in a 15-day term. In this respect, the draft document provides for the extension of the period of issuing the decision on giving rights to pension or rejecting the retirement application 30 days upon the latter's submission.

The draft on the amendment of the law on state social insurances pensions is to be forwarded to parliament for approval.
