Moldovan foreign minister meets Latvian counterpart

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman today met Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, on a two-day working visit to Moldova, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The sides tackled the positive bilateral cooperation in areas important to Moldova’s progress on its EU integration path, as well as collaboration ties in the justice, education, health, environment and other sectors.
“We are glad to ascertain the fact that the current Moldovan-Latvian political dialogue is extremely dense, substantial and constructive. Our goal is to consolidate bilateral ministerial, local public authority and business cooperation in the near future, in order to benefit from the advantages offered by the EU Free Trade area, “Gherman said.
For his part, Rinkēvičs said Latvia would fully back Moldova's efforts to enforce reforms. “Moldova registered remarkable results following the implementation of the EU Association Agreement. Latvia will support Moldova's EU integration course and will continue to keep the Eastern Partnership on its priority list”.
The officials also broached Moldova’s political situation, the Transnistrian conflict’s settlement and regional developments.
