Moldova-Romania agreement on refundable financial assistance enters into force

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/- The agreement on refundable financial assistance between Romania and Moldova, amounting to 150 million euros, signed in Chisinau on 7 October, entered into force upon its publication in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
The 150-million-euros loan, provided by the Romanian government for a five-year period, will have a 1.5-per cent annual interest rate and will be received in three installments. Thus, the first installment, amounting to 60 million euros, is to be disbursed by late 2015, the second one, estimated at 50 million euros, in 2016 and the third - 40 million euros in 2017.
The financial assistance will cover the budget deficit in 2015 and will ensure sustainability for development projects.
This week, the 150-million-euros loan agreement was ratified by the Romanian parliament.
