Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Party of Communists (PCRM) would support a motion of censure against government, if it is initiated by a parliamentary faction. PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin made the statements to this effect at a today's news conference.
Voronin noted that "on the last period, the prime minister has been concerned more about the defence of Vlad Filat than the country's interests". "Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet cares not for the situation in the country, not for the urgent actions that must be taken, but he tries to defend Vlad Filat," Voronin said.
He also criticized the government for initiating the liquidation of the Banca de Economii (Savings Bank), without consulting parliamentary commissions. "It is necessary that the state should have its own bank, as practically all European states have state banks. The state must be an actor on the financial and banking market, just as any other operator," he said.
Referring to arrest of former prime minister Vlad Filat, Voronin noted that "this situation should have burst long ago. Not in vain Strelet and Filat liquidated the Saving Bank, without consulting the opinions of parliamentary commissions and parliament."
