Moldovan speaker shows interest in private health system development

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, representatives of Turkish investors to Moldova and the main creditor of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) visited the Chisinau-based private “Medpark” International Hospital today. The officials and the leadership of the hospital broached private healthcare development and the modernization of the legislative system in this area, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
After getting acquainted with the building, the sides addressed the hospital’s efforts to further improve the quality of its medical services, as well as enhance people’s access to them.
The leadership of the “Medpark” international hospital highlighted the need to develop public-private partnerships in the medical sector; it also focused on the Turkish investors’ investment plans.
The “Medpark” International Hospital has been opened in Moldova for five years already. It is considered to be the first and the largest multidisciplinary private hospital of the country. Its medical services comply with international standards; it is also endowed with operating and hospitalization rooms, maternity ward, laboratories for medical tests, emergency units, polyclinic and medical imaging departments. Annually, the hospital provides medical services to almost 60.000 patients. It holds international accreditation in terms of quality of medical care and patient safety.
