Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/- Eight Czech companies presented their business proposals for the Moldovan market, at a forum titled “Czech-Moldovan cooperation opportunities in the agro-techno-food sector”, held at the MOLDEXPO International Exhibition Centre today.
The event was carried out by the Czech Embassy in Moldova.
Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil said bilateral commercial and economic ties had lately recorded an important development.
“I am glad that Czechs prefer Moldovan wines, and Moldovans choose Czech beer. The Czech Republic has a highly-developed industry, and is willing to offer Moldovan companies more opportunities. Attending the forum are companies already active on the Moldovan market, as well as companies who are for the first time here. The “Zetor” company, for example, could provide Moldovan farmers with modern tractors,” Kvapil added.
Attending the event was also Deputy Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Eduard Grama, who noted that Moldova’s annual wine exports to Czech Republic stand at over 10 million litres.
According to data by the National Statistics Bureau, the Moldovan-Czech foreign trade amounted to 96.48 million dollars in 2014, up by 1.65 per cent against 2013.
