Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- The National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) will no longer be subordinated to the government, as a new draft law, approved by Moldovan MPs today, provides for CNA's subordination to the parliament.
The draft was submitted at an initiative by Democrat MP Sergiu Sirbu and introduces a string of amendments to the laws regulating the appointment of the CNA leadership.
According to him, the CNA head will now be dismissed and appointed by the parliament for a five-year mandate, without possibility to run for a consecutive one.
The draft law was backed by 65 MPs.
