Moldovan premier-designate presents declaration on integrity for future cabinet members

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister-designate Ion Sturza today presented a declaration on integrity for the future cabinet members. The document was put forth at a meeting with representatives of the civil society.
The declaration comprises the basic criteria in selecting the government members.
To have an integral government, it is extremely important that its members meet more criteria, such as: he/she should have good criminal and fiscal records, has not been convicted and neither was accused in the country or abroad; has not committed corruption acts, influence peddling; has not been and is not in conflict of interests, does not have patrimony which cannot be justified, etc.'' Ion Sturza said.
Civil society's representatives welcomed the criteria unveiled by Ion Sturza, stressing that they would develop a formula of cooperation with the government, in order to improve the integrity steps.
''You are the first candidate to present these criteria. We welcome them. The discussions on the present situation in Moldova were productive. Subsequently, we will come up with suggestions for the development of the country's social and economic system,'' members of the civil society said.
After the president had nominated the candidacy of Ion Sturza for the premier’s position on 21 December, on the next day, the prime minister-designate started consultations with all parliamentary factions.
Today morning, Ion Sturza presented the outcomes of the public consultations with the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Liberal Party (PL) and European People's Party of Moldova (PPEM). Sturza specified that he had discussed with the factions the government's action programme, due to be unveiled to parliament on 4 January 2016. Also today, the prime minister-designate had a meeting with the rectors of Moldovan universities.
The candidate is to have meetings with representatives of the Democratic Party, Party of Socialists and Party of Communists. Sturza will meet Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, after which he is to have meetings with ambassadors accredited in Chisinau, professional associations, mayors of the Chisinau and Balti cities. Afterwards, the prime minister-designate will visit the Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit.
