Warning of travel to Ukraine over heavy snowfall

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs citizens and transport companies about the fact that, starting from 18 January, Moldovan and Ukrainian competent authorities recommend avoiding travels to Ukraine, particularly the Odessa region, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.
Thus, the Ukrainian services in charge informed about the appearance, in the wake of heavy snowfall and strong winds of the last days, of serious difficulties for the movement of transport means on the following national and international highways:
M-05 Chisinau - Odessa - Kiev, km 321 + 000 - km 464 +122;
M-05-01 Chisinau - Odessa;
M-13 Chisinau - Platonovo - Kirovograd;
M-14 Chisinau - Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk (to Taganrog);
M-15 Chisinau - Odessa - reni (to Bucharest);
M-16 Chisinau - Kuchurgan - Odessa;
M-27 Odessa - Ilichovsk;
M-28 Odessa-Romania;
P-70 Odessa - Belgorod-Dnestrovsk - Monashi;
P-72 PT Starokazacie - Belgorod-Dnestrovsk.
According to the information provided by the General Directorate of State Service of Ukraine on Emergency Situations, the entrance and exit from the Odessa city, as well as the movement of the transport units on the Ukrainian territory to the border checkpoints Starokazacie - Tudora and Maiaki - Palanka - Udobnoe were temporarily ceased because of unfriendly weather conditions. The movement of snow-clearance units on roads in the aforementioned directs takes place with difficulty because of snow banks.
MAEIE insistently recommends that Moldovan citizens abstain from travels on the above-mentioned roads, especially to/through the Odessa region.
