Moldovan protesters' leaders say rallies, pressures to continue

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/- The leaders of the three groups of protesters, Andrei Nastase, Igor Dodon and Renato Usatii, at a today civic forum, said that the protests, as well as pressures on government would go on.

Dodon said the statements made by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu on organization of a referendum on the direct election of the Moldovan president was a first victory, and the peaceful pressures must be continued. “What has been happening in the last two weeks, the fact that we have united is a good thing and we have a clear common agenda – dissolution of parliament and organization of snap polls. After protests, today we got the first answer on behalf of the government, and we propose even amendment of the Constitution in parliament," Dodon said.

One of the leaders of the Dignity and Truth Platform, Andrei Nastase, pointed out that the protesters' claims must be fully observed, in order to get the country out of crisis.

The leader of Our Party, Renato Usatii, proposed the MPs to submit a censure motion against the Filip government, and protesters should attend the concerned meeting as well. “Presently, all citizens need to mobilise, in order to get snap polls," he said.

Andrian Candu informed that the parliamentary majority was ready to accept a string of claims submitted by protesters, among which organization of a constitutional referendum on direct election of the president.
