Moldova’s National Army attends multifunctional drill in Germany

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/-A National Army contingent made of a platoon of infantrymen and a bomb squad participate in the “Mission Readiness Exercise” (MRE KFOR 21) drills, at a military training center in Hohenfels, Germany, on 10 February- 2 March.
According to the head of the contingent, Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Efros, Moldovan militaries will be trained during some practical and theoretical sessions, in compliance with a scenario reflecting the situation in Kosovo.
“Our infantrymen will train to accomplish missions at border-checking and crossing points, crowd control and patrols. At the same time, Moldovan sappers will be assigned specific engineering mission to track and destroy explosive devices,” Efros noted.
„Mission Readiness Exercise” reunites militaries from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, USA and Hungary. It aims to improve skills in the accomplishment of international peacekeeping missions.
Moldova’s National Army has been participating in military drills in Germany since 2012.
