Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip during the cabinet meeting today asked the Health Ministry to take urgent measures and raise the awareness in order to prevent diseases, taking into account the epidemiological situation in the country.
In this context, the prime minister said he had held three recent meetings in various formats with representatives of the pharmaceutical sector. “I wanted to get a better understanding of the situation on the pharmaceutical market, from price formation to the problems this sector is facing. I want to say that the chaos there is rather big. It was partially caused by the negative effect of the exchange rate on the medication price, which led to the elimination of some important medicines from the market,” Filip said.
The prime minister asked that a working group be created and work out a strategy with concrete and quick actions for this sector, so that citizens be provided with qualitative medicines at optimal and correctly calculated prices. “The situation needs a complex analysis. Representatives of the pharmaceutical sector and state authorities must harmonize their ideas in this field. Of course it is important that they understand that high incomes are not possible during the times Moldova is currently going through, and everything must be adjusted to the citizens’ possibilities,” Filip noted.
