Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - The removal of debts in implementing the Association Agreement between the European Union and Moldova represents the basic priority in the next activity of the government and parliament. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and Prime Minister Pavel Filip today made statements to this effect following a joint meeting of the parliament and the cabinet.
The participants in the meeting discussed subjects on commitments before the International Monetary Fund, government of Romania, reform of the legal system, financial and banking sector, as well as in the energy field.
“We have synchronized the priorities and working agenda of the parliament and government. We also established the debts in implementing the Association Agreement and identified ways to overcome them. We will organise such meetings systematically. The next meeting is to take place on 11 March,” Speaker Andrian Candu said.
“There are quite big debts in enforcing the Association Agreement. At the meeting of the commission for European integration, we pointed them out. And we hope to remove them in a 30-day period,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
“So far, the government has submitted to parliament for adoption only 32 drafts out of 100 provided for in the plan on implementing the Association Agreement. We are to mobilize and have such a meeting at least once per month, as the situation must be unlocked as soon as possible,” Pavel Filip added.
