Moldovan Economics Ministry sees promotion of free trade zone legislation as priority

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Economics Minister Vitalie Iurcu during a meeting today said the Economics Ministry had a string of priorities related to the implementation of the association agreement, thus aiming to promote the metrology law, market surveillance law, as well as the strategy for drawing investments to promote exports during 2016-2020.
During a meeting of the Supervisory Committee in charge of monitoring the enforcement of a financing agreement between Moldova and the European Commission, backing the creation of Moldova-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the officials discussed the progress in its implementation, along with progress in the implementation of sector strategies and lists of future actions to be taken in this field.
“We will succeed to implement 76 per cent of all the policies, if the laws are approved in final reading and published by 31 March 2016. Thus, Moldova will be among the leading countries in the implementation of actions provided in the budget support programme,” the project coordinator, Philip
Committee members recommended that the implementation of acquisition plans be finished, while Consumer Protection Agency and the National Agency for Food Safety shall be subjected to control procedures. They also recommend authorities speed up internal procedures for signing contracts with PARE 1+1 programme applicants. The committee asked to remove barriers to the acquisition of necessary purchases for business incubators.
