Moldovan foreign minister, Ukrainian counterpart discuss political dialogue, bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur held a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on 13 February in Germany, in the framework of the 52nd Munich Security Conference, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The ministers confirmed their mutual interests in boosting up direct contacts and the Moldovan-Ukrainian political dialogue, which could efficiently help promote bilateral cooperation in all fields and settle current problems.
The sides made a broad exchange of views on the separatist conflicts both countries are facing, tackling their impact on the regional security. The officials have also emphasized the important need for international actors involved in the peaceful settlement of these conflicts, to join efforts and find a solution, observing both neighboring countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity. To this effect, Galbur welcomed the recent appointment by Ukraine of a special representative for the Transnistrian conflict’s settlement, speaking out for the resumption of the five-plus-two negotiations as soon as possible.
